Danbury Residence Inn Completes Extensive Renovation

Danbury, CT – December 22, 2005 – Residence Inn by Marriott Danbury recently completed more than $845,000 in renovations, part of a Marriott brand protocol that requires their hotels to upgrade specific components of their property every few years. The 78-room hotel, which opened in February of 1999, is professionally managed by Waterford Hotel Group, Inc., a national hotel management firm currently operating 30 hotels in 10 states.

Renovations on the hotel began in September, and the 3-month long refresh has given the property a fresh, contemporary look and feel. In the guestrooms a new bedding package, The Serta Presidential Pillow Top Bed, was introduced and is the new focal point of the room. The new bedding includes hypoallergenic down comforters, upgraded 220-count sheets, and new bed scarves, and has replaced the hotel’s outdated bedspreads.

In addition to a newly painted interior, the Danbury guest suites also received new carpet and kitchen flooring, wallpaper, and window treatments. All furniture in the rooms, including the sofas, desks, chairs and stools, was replaced, completing a transformation that has made the space more comfortable and luxurious.

The hotel’s interior public spaces, including the lobby, guest corridors, meeting rooms, and staircases, all received a new coat of paint, and colorful carpet and wall coverings were installed. The furniture in the hotel’s hearth room was replaced to provide a more comfortable, relaxing setting for weary travelers. Many other accessories within these spaces, including ceiling fixtures, mirrors, and window treatments, were also updated to complete the hotel’s clean and modern transformation.
