WOLMAN CONSTRUCTION NAMED AWARD RECIPIENT
BY HOME BUILDERS ASSOCIATION OF CT
Award Recognizes Best Large Commercial Rehab
WATERFORD, CT (October 20, 2005) --- Wolman Construction today proudly announced that it was honored at the Home Builders Association of Connecticut Annual Awards (HOBI Awards) Dinner held last night at the Aqua Turf Country Club in Southington, CT. Sponsored by the HBA of Connecticut, the HOBI Awards offer recognition to builders, remodelers and members of the housing industry for excellence in home design and construction, home technology, sales and marketing and home financing. Industry peers located throughout the State of Connecticut selected award recipients. This is the 13th consecutive year that Wolman Construction has been recognized for its impressive portfolio of projects.
This year, Wolman Construction won in the category of Best Large Commercial Rehab for the $33 Million transformation of the Hilton Hotel in Hartford, CT. The 392-room, 22 story hotel was completely transformed into a state-of-the-art, high-tech, consumer-friendly, first-class hotel. The hotel’s reopening on March 1, 2005 brought to Hartford a modern, upscale hotel, the likes of which have not been available in Connecticut’s capital city for years. The team faced numerous challenges during the reconstruction, including the elimination of escalators, replacement of elevators and mechanical equipment, extensive HVAC work, and space reconfiguration. “This was more than a renovation – this was a whole reconfiguration of the interior of a once neglected building,” stated Mark Wolman, president of Wolman Construction. “The end result is impressive - it feels like a brand-new facility.”
Wolman Construction is a member of the Home Builder’s Association of Connecticut. The company’s award-winning projects include:
