LOCAL HOTEL RE-INVENTS ITSELF AS A COURTYARD BY MARRIOTT
Party-Goers Lend a Helping Hand to Decorate Local Hospital

MARLBOROUGH, MA – September 21, 2006 – The local community welcomed the Marlborough Courtyard by Marriott this evening, joining Senator Resor, Representative LeDuc, Mayor Stevens, hotel ownership, and more than 200 invited guests. The new and improved hotel is the result of an extensive renovation and re-franchising of the former Hotel Marlborough.

The Marlborough Courtyard is owned by FFC/Waterford Marlboro Holding, LLC and professionally managed by Waterford Hotel Group, Inc. of Waterford, Connecticut. Wolman Construction, also based in Waterford, was responsible for the hotel renovations. “Our approach is not just to purchase or develop a hotel and run it as status quo, but rather to make the hotel better for hotel associates, guests, and the local community,” Fred Branovan, President and COO of FFC Capital Corporation, commented during the evening’s event. “The Marlborough Courtyard by Marriott is indicative of this commitment,” added Branovan.

During the grand opening festivities, guests were asked to lend a helping hand by painting artwork provided by the hotel and The Foundation for Hospital Art. Guests were assisted by volunteering students from Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School. The hotel proudly presented the artwork to Linda Dodge, Director of Development of Marlborough Hospital, to be displayed at the hospital. “This is a great way for us to celebrate the opening of the Marlborough Courtyard, while at the same time helping to decorate our local hospital,” said Mary Simone, General Manager of the Courtyard. “We have always taken great pride in being good neighbors and in giving back to our local community, and this tradition continues,” Simone added.

The 202-room Courtyard by Marriott in Marlborough, Massachusetts is located at 75 Felton Street. The five-story hotel offers Marriott International’s new, luxurious bedding. The hotel also offers 7,600 square feet of meeting space to accommodate small meetings and functions up to 400 people. Other guest facilities include the Felton’s Café and Bar, serving breakfast and dinner, an indoor swimming pool with whirlpool spa, exercise room, guests laundry and business library.

Meeting the evolving needs of the traveler, Courtyard has redesigned its public space. The new concept includes a business library featuring individual workstations with high-speed internet data ports and ergonomic chairs; a pantry-style 24-hour “grab and go” food and beverage area called The Market, and a lounge area where guests can work, meet and dine in a relaxing setting.
