(New London, CT – August 15, 2007) – Today, the Waterford Group Charitable Foundation proudly presented the New London Covenant Shelter and the New London Homeless Hospitality Center (NLHHC) a check in the amount of $3,500 [see attached photo]. The contribution was made to support both of the organizations as they join forces in an upcoming fundraiser, the 3rd Annual “Turning Homeless Into Hopeful” Benefit Dance. The Waterford Group Charitable Foundation has been named Presenting Sponsor of the event to be held on Friday, September 7th at the Port & Starboard, Ocean Beach Park, New London.

The continuing mission of the New London Covenant Shelter and NLHHC includes the development of transitional housing to enable people to make the first step away from homelessness. “We are grateful to the Waterford Group Charitable Foundation for their generosity and for recognizing the importance of the work that we do,” said John Russell, Benefit Chair. “We look forward to bringing the community together for a wonderful evening on September 7th, while at the same time helping the homeless of New London,”
added Russell.

Waterford Group Charitable Foundation is funded in part through voluntary contributions and fundraising held by the associates of Waterford Group and its affiliates, including Waterford SpringHill Suites by Marriott, New London Holiday Inn, Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa, Mystic Comfort Inn, Mystic Residence Inn by Marriott, and the Norwich Courtyard by Marriott. “The efforts of the New London Covenant Shelter and the New London Homeless Hospitality Center are to be commended, and we are honored to serve as Presenting Sponsor for this event,” commented Len Wolman, Chairman and CEO of Waterford Group. “We are proud of all of our associates and their continued generosity and commitment to helping others in our community,” added Wolman.
