Waterford Group Charitable Foundation Holds “Bowl-A-Thon”
To Support Habitat for Humanity’s “Build-A-Thon”

(Waterford, CT – May 17, 2007) --- Today, the Waterford Group Charitable Foundation made a $2,500 donation to the Southeastern Connecticut Chapter of Habitat for Humanity. With their donation, Waterford has become a sponsor of the Habitat for Humanity Build-A-Thon 2007, a week-long event involving more than 100 volunteers helping to build new homes for local families in need. "Build-A-Thon 2007 is an exciting event, established to raise awareness about the need for simple, decent shelter, the need for funding to help build it, and the joy of working as a Habitat for Humanity volunteer. We are thrilled that the Waterford Group is committing $2,500 in support of their employees who will work together to help build one of our homes during this week of concentrated building," said Margaret Holmberg, President Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity of Southeastern Connecticut.

Funds for the sponsorship were raised during Waterford Group Charitable Foundation’s 2007 Bowl-A-Thon, held recently at the Holiday Bowl in Groton. Nearly 40 associates from the Holiday Inn New London, Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa of Groton, SpringHill Suites by Marriott Waterford, Residence Inn by Marriott Mystic, Comfort Inn Mystic, and the Waterford Group corporate office participated in the Bowl-A-Thon. Those associates were then given the opportunity to vote on where they wanted the proceeds donated.
