Vines at Octagon Bartender Wins Mixie Award
Stephen Wakeman Takes the Prize for His Mellow McIlhenny

Groton, CT – March 2, 2007 – Vines at Octagon, located at 625 North Road in Groton, CT, is pleased to announce that bartender Stephen Wakeman has been honored with Hotel F&B Magazine’s Annual MIXIE Awards Hotel Cocktail Competition. Steve, a resident of Mystic, CT, was awarded the $1,000 grand prize in the Tabasco® category for his Mellow McIlhenny. Vines serves lunch daily from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm, and offers dinner from 5:00 pm – 11:00 pm.

Steve’s winning cocktail is a spicy and refreshing blend of light rum, fresh lime juice, Rose’s lime, Tabasco® Brand Pepper Sauce, seedless watermelon, and ice.
