RADISSON KINGSLEY HOTEL SETS THE STANDARD OF EXCELLENCE
AND RECEIVES AAA FOUR DIAMOND RATING

Hotel Honored by Radisson Hotels & Resorts with 2004 Renovation Award

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MI --- July 16, 2004. . . Less than one year after an extensive $10 million hotel renovation and repositioning, the Radisson Kingsley Hotel in Bloomfield Hills, MI has been officially recognized by America’s lead system of ranking for hotels and resorts. Associates of the Radisson Kingsley were joined by representatives from ownership, management, and the American Automobile Association (AAA) for a celebration luncheon today. On hand was AAA’s Nancy Kane, Public Relations Manager, who awarded each hotel associate with a AAA Four Diamond lapel pin. The Radisson Kingsley hotel is one of only two hotels in the Oakland County region to be honored with the prestigious AAA Four Diamond Award.

“Everyone here at the Radisson Kingsley is delighted that our efforts and commitment to quality has been so quickly recognized by AAA, the ranking that more American travelers pay attention to than any other. As a Four Diamond property, we join some of the finest hotels and resorts in the country, and we will do everything we need to do to ensure that our guests have the finest experience possible. We will wear our pins proudly,” said Michael Harrison, General Manager. AAA’s Four Diamond Award requires that a hotel provide a highly refined level of quality in accommodations, amenities, hospitality, facilities, service, physical attributes and attention to detail.

The hotel was recently honored by Radisson Hotels & Resorts as a recipient of a 2004 Renovation Award for the exceptional quality of its hotel’s completed renovation project and its support of Radisson’s brand standards. The hotel was one of only two locations honored for its renovation project investment in the $10 Million and Above Category among the nearly 250 hotels in The Americas region.

A total of 16 Radisson hotels received the 2004 Renovation Awards that were presented by Bjørn Gullaksen, Radisson Hotels & Resorts Brand Leader and executive vice president of Full Service Hotels for Carlson Hotels Worldwide; and Bob Moerke, regional vice president of operations for Carlson Hotels Worldwide, at the recent Carlson Hotels Worldwide Annual Business Conference in Palm Beach, Aruba, in the Caribbean.

The Radisson Kingsley is professionally managed by Waterford Hotel Group, a national hotel management firm. Waterford Hotel Group currently operates 26 properties in 9 states, representing more than 2,900 hotel rooms nationwide. For more information, visit the company’s website at www.waterfordgroup.net. The hotel is owned by a partnership of affiliates of Connecticut-based Waterford Group, LLC and Michigan-based Slavik, Inc.

About Radisson Kingsley Hotel
The $25 million hotel, located along Oakland County’s main boulevard — Woodward Avenue — is a 3 story, boutique hotel with 150 rooms, a four-star seafood restaurant and New York style deli, fitness facility, indoor pool, and meeting facilities. The Radisson Kingsley Hotel employs approximately 40 associates.

In 2003, the hotel underwent a comprehensive renovation project, including the hotel exterior, landscape, lobby, public areas, banquet facilities and guest rooms, which has transformed the 39-year-old hotel into a stylish, inviting and new property. The hotel possesses an intimate, warm and sophisticated boutique atmosphere with a design that reflects the history and community. The award winning local design firm of Ford & Earl Associates drew inspiration from the heritage of nearby Cranbrook Academy of Art — renowned for its high quality of design and education. In the tradition of artist Eliel Saarinen [the Academy’s designer and first president] clean lines and earth tones are recalled in the geometric and organic patterns used in carpet, wall coverings, paint, window treatment, bedding and custom designed guest room furniture. New art work based upon the grounds and architecture of Cranbrook further enhances the theme.
