UNDERGOES COMPREHENSIVE RENOVATION

Improved Facilities and Added Amenities to Enhance Guest Experience


WATERFORD, CT – June 6, 2003 --- The Holiday Inn in New London is completing a more than $3.5 million hotel renovation. Added features such as an indoor pool, high speed Internet access, a Grab n ’Go, and a new Outback Steakhouse on site, are aimed to meet the needs of today’s business and leisure travelers. The hotel is professionally managed by Waterford Hotel Group, a national hotel management firm operating 29 properties in 11 states.

The renovation project will transform the 61-year old hotel into a new property. The work on the 136-room hotel includes complete interior renovation including paint, wall vinyl, furniture, bathroom which included a new counter top and mirror, lights and fixtures. The Cascade’s Restaurant, Tailgator’s Lounge and meeting rooms, as well as registration and all public areas will also be completely remodeled.

The Holiday Inn in New London features Holiday Inn’s newest room décor package. All guest rooms feature either a king bed or two double beds, work desk, chair and lamp, arm chair, and full bathroom. Guests will enjoy the use of our new indoor pool, Jacuzzi and exercise room along with our current amenities. The addition of the Outback Steakhouse will offer our guests a choice when it comes to dinner options. Cascade’s Restaurant located at the Holiday Inn will continue to offer guests a full service menu for both breakfast and dinner.

The hotel is located just minutes away from CT College, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun, Mystic Seaport, Aquarium, major businesses such as Pfizer, General Dynamics/Electric Boat, Sonalysts Studios, U.S. Sub Base and, of course, easy access to I-95.

Wolman Construction, based in Waterford, is serving as construction manager for the renovation project.
