Comfort Inn of Mystic Receives Gold Hospitality Award

Mystic, CT April 8, 2002-The Comfort Inn in Mystic, professionally managed by Waterford Hotel Group, Inc., recently received the Gold Hospitality Award from Choice Hotels International, parent company of the Comfort Inn chain. The award is presented annually to hotels that exceed Choice's rigid quality assurance standards. "This prestigious award recognizes exceptional service, facilities and hospitality," said Steve Schultz, Choice Executive Vice President of domestic hotels.

To qualify, a hotel must undergo a series of rigorous inspections that evaluate each operating department. Departments are rated according to criteria including staff knowledge, attitude and professionalism; training; safety and security; maintenance and energy conservation; and physical conditions.
Last year, Gold Hospitality Awards were presented to just 7 percent of the eligible hotels in the Choice system.

The Comfort Inn features 120 rooms each with telephones with data ports and voice mail, cable television with pay movies and handicap accessible rooms. Hotel facilities include in-house exercise facility, shuttle service to area casino, banquet and meeting facilities accommodating up to 50 people and afternoon hospitality Sunday through Thursday. Room rates begin at $59.00, which includes deluxe continental breakfast and a daily newspaper. Special rates are available on a space-available basis when booked in advance for business travelers, senior citizens, members of the American Automobile Association and government and military personnel.
